Braeton J. Smith (website)

Braeton is a PhD student in the Mineral and Energy Economics program at the Colorado School of Mines (CSM). He currently serves as a research assistant for the Critical Materials Institute (CMI)  and as a contractor for the National Infrastructure Simulation and Analysis Center (NISAC) at Sandia National Laboratories. He founded the CSM-USAEE in 2014 out of a desire to see the work of CSM students better represented in the energy community. His current research involves quantifying the substitutability of rare earth elements in various clean energy technologies and contributing to a study by CMI assessing the criticality of materials used in emerging clean energy technology. He holds a MS in Mineral and Energy Economics from CSM, a MS in Applied Economics from Oregon State University, and a BA in Economics and Spanish from the University of New Mexico.

Sadie Fulton

Sadie is a PhD student in the Mineral and Energy Economics program at the Colorado School of Mines (CSM). She currently serves as a research assistant for the Critical Materials Institute (CMI) and as a research assistant for the Clean Energy Manufacturing Analysis Center (CEMAC) within the Joint Institute for Strategic Energy Analysis (JISEA) at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.  She holds a BA in Economics from the University of Colorado Denver.

Tisi Alphas Igogo

Tisi is a PhD student in the Mineral and Energy Economics Program at the Colorado School of Mines (CSM). She has served as an Economist with the Tanzania Ministry of Finance for the past 8 years and holds MA and BA degrees in Economics from the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

Martin Kohn

Martin is a MS candidate in the Mineral and Energy Economics Program at the Colorado School of Mines (CSM). He currently serves as an Analyst at Mantucket Capital and holds undergraduate degrees in Accounting and History from the University of Minnesota.

Ian Lange (website)

Dr. Lange is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Economics and Business at the Colorado School of Mines (CSM). Prior to CSM, he served as an Associate Professor at the University of Stirling and as an economist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Lange is widely published in the field of energy economics and has been featured on many Colorado Public Radio broadcasts. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Washington and MA and BA degrees in Economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
